Program Information
If you’re interested in computer programming, this program will prepare you for entry-level positions in a technical environment, as well as for transfer into a four-year college program. Through both classroom and laboratory instruction, you’ll develop a knowledge base in a variety of programming languages and how to create digital solutions using industry-specific problem-solving skills.
Upon completion of the two-year program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:
- Ability to obtain a job in the programming field or to transfer to an upper division college in a computer related field
- Develop a theoretical knowledge base, and firsthand experience with the problem solving process
- Have the knowledge of and experience in several subfields of Computer Science
- Work as part of a group to complete laboratory assignments and projects
- Develop analytical problem solving skills
- Communicate effectively in the field of Computer Science
- Demonstrate information literacy
