Fablab Equipment
The FABLab at MVCC is filled with high-tech industrial-grade fabrication equipment and electronic tools. This equipment is capable of producing a variety of differently sized projects or products ranging from small to large. The current inventory of equipment located in the FABLab includes many different pieces ranging from 3D Printers and 3D Scanners to CNC Controlled Milling Machines and Laser Engravers.
3D Printers
Stratasys uPrint SE Plus:
(8 inch x 8 inch x 6 inch) Build Size. The FABLab has one of these printers. It uses FDM Technology to print functional prototypes using ABSplus Thermoplastic that are durable, stable, and accurate. The uPrint SE Plus prints models in layers, at a thickness of 0.010 inch.
Makerbot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer:
(9.9 inch x 7.8 inch x 5.9 inch) Build Size. The FABLab has three of these printers, which use ABS Thermoplastic to print models and prototypes.
3D Scanners
EScan 2.0:
The FABLab has one of these scanners, which is used to reverse engineer medium-sized objects, for design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing, and inspection proposes. Files can be formatted for STL, OBJ, VRML, IGES, and ASCII. This scanner is compatible with Solidworks and many other Solid Modeling Programs.
Makerbot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner
The FABLab has one of these scanners, which is used to reverse engineer small to medium-sized objects for design and rapid prototyping purposes. Files can be formatted for STL and THING.
CNC Milling Machines
