Program Information
If you’re a detail-oriented and creative worker interested in architecture, building materials, and construction methods, you might be interested in a career in computer-aided drafting. These programs will prepare you to be a drafting technician in many facets of the technical drawing and solid modeling design fields. Learn both conventional drafting methods and computer-aided drafting systems such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and SolidWorks.The one-year certificate program constitutes the first year of the two-year degree without Physical Education and College Seminar.
Upon completion of the two-year program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:
- Understand with common applications computer-aided drafting technology
- Ability to enter the field of computer-aided drafting
- Complete drawings using standard CAD techniques
- Successfully interact with others through drawings and other technical means.
- Communicate effectively
- Ability to quantitatively analyze common CAD problems.
- Demonstrate information literacy
