Program information

Do you have the ability to envision and create new business ventures, identify new opportunities, or want to reinvigorate existing businesses? These capabilities are often lacking in traditional organizations, and with our Entrepreneurship Certificate program, you can develop and foster the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a successful business.

Upon completion of the nine-month program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:

  • Preparation to own or operate an entrepreneurial enterprise or small business
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and interact with a diverse business population 
  • Effective communication
  • Ability to analyze and solve business problems and use technology as a problem-solving tool
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping practices and be able to calculate price margins, markups and business ratios
  • Ability to gather, organize, manage, and interpret data
  • Knowledge of financial and market information and resources available to small business owners
  • Information literacy using traditional and contemporary information technology and the ability to identify, access, and appropriately use authoritative sources of information
