Program information

If you're looking to get a head-start on a bachelor’s degree in business, our Business Administration AS degree program will give you the tools you need to successfully transfer to a four-year college or university. Learn the basics and open up the possibilities for your future career in business. This program is fully available on both the Utica and Rome campuses.

Prerequisites

Two high school mathematics courses or their equivalent, plus one year of laboratory science required.

Upon completion of the two-year Associate in Science degree program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:

  • Preparation for transfer to a higher educational institution with the appropriate number of SUNY general educational courses
  • Effective interaction within a diverse business population
  • Effective communication
  • Ability to analyze and solve business problems
  • Understanding of worldwide issues related to business
  • Understanding that business decisions are based on systematic processes such as accounting systems, MIS, and the economic way of thinking
  • Ability to summarize, report, and interpret financial data
  • Information literacy using traditional and contemporary information technology and the ability to identify, access, and appropriately use authoritative sources of information
