If you desire to be a police officer, the Law Enforcement program will provide you with a certification that will put you ahead of other candidates. Students complete the Pre-employment Police training program (Phase 1) which follows the standards prescribed by the New York State Municipal Training Council and the Department of Criminal Justice Services. Graduates receive approximately 85% of the training that is required by the State of New York to be a police officer. If you are looking to jumpstart your career in Law Enforcement, this program is for you.
The program is directed by Troy Little. Director Little retired from the New York State police as a captain after 22 years of service. During his tenure with the state police, he had the opportunity to serve as a sergeant at the state police academy. He holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany. Director Little is assisted in the day-to-day operation of the program by Chris Ellis. Mr. Ellis retired from the New York State Police as a Captain after 28 years of service. Instruction for the program is provided by current and retired law enforcement officers from across the county that possess hundreds of years of combined experience.
