MVCC Foundation: Scholarships & Student Support | 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

The MVCC Foundation, 501 c(3) nonprofit corporation, was established in 1966 to secure
private sector support to supplement and enhance public funding at the College. In
addition to fundraising, the Foundation oversees the management and administration
of 182 funds totally $8M. The MVCC Foundation currently offers more than 130 scholarship
opportunities, with each scholarship having a unique set of criteria which determines
a student’s eligibility. With the range of criteria, nearly every student will find
one or more scholarships for which they qualify. In addition to scholarships, the
Foundation offers several student support funds, which help MVCC students facing unexpected
financial challenges. These funds provide support and help remove financial barriers,
allowing students to continue and complete their educational goals. This session will
provide information about the MVCC Foundation, Scholarships, Student Support Funds,
and the application process. There will also be time allotted to answer specific questions
about individual scholarships and funding.

Book Club - Make it Stick | 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

This is a semester long book club discussion with practical micro-teach opportunities
to workshop how to use the principles in the book in your classroom. Each session
will have invited guests to give demonstrations and discuss their use active learning
in their classroom.

Managing Your Calendar to Manage Your Productivity | 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

If I didn't have my online calendar, I would literally have no idea where I was going
or what I was doing! Over the past year, I've been finding better ways to make use
of my calendar to not only get me where I need to go, but also to help me better figure
out how to get things done more effectively. Come hear what I've been working on and
share your tips about how you use your calendars.

Math Tools in the Digital Age | 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Keeping students engaged in a math class can be challenging, especially when they
don’t have the necessary tools to help them succeed. We are excited to share a variety
of free math websites, apps, and programs that assist in classroom equity and accessibility.
Faculty and staff from all disciplines are welcome to see how these various tools
can be integrated in the classroom and in the design of class materials.

Everybody Has Pronouns! | 2:45 - 3:45 p.m.

Understanding LGBT+ history and culture can be difficult when there's so much to learn,
but there are some small things we can do to make a huge difference in the lives of
our students and peers. This session is a supportive dive into what different pronouns
mean, how they are used, and how to train your brain to make the switch.
