Bring Your Child

Bring Your Child to Work Day is an annual program that gives full-time employees the opportunity to share their workplace with their children for a day of learning and fun. Traditionally held during the K-12 February break, this event is designed for children ages 5-13 and features a variety of engaging activities such as chemistry experiments, art projects, swimming, yoga, and more. This special day allows children to experience a vibrant college environment while providing employees with a meaningful way to connect their work and family life.

Bring Your Dog

Bring Your Dog to Work Day is a fun and engaging event that allows full-time employees to bring their four-legged family members to campus for the day. Recognizing the benefits of pets in the workplace—such as reducing stress, boosting morale, and fostering social connections—this event creates an opportunity for employees to interact in a relaxed and positive setting. Participating dogs receive a special “doggy bag”, and employees are encouraged to bring donations for a local animal shelter. This event reflects MVCC’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and engaging workplace culture while celebrating the joy that pets bring to our lives.

Hawks Socials

Hawks Socials were introduced in 2023 as part of MVCC’s commitment to employee well-being, recognizing social connection as an essential element of a fulfilling workplace. These gatherings offer employees a chance to step away from their daily routines, engage with colleagues, and build meaningful connections in a relaxed setting. Past events have included Swing and Sip at a local driving range and winery, bowling, Comets hockey games, and cultural experiences such as a Bosnian coffee gathering. Many Hawks Socials also welcome guests, providing employees the opportunity to share the experience with a partner or friend, further strengthening connections both within and beyond the College community.

Team MVCC

Team MVCC is a program that brings faculty, staff, and students together to participate in College-sponsored community events that reflect MVCC’s role as the community’s college. Through these organized initiatives, Team MVCC provides visibility and meaningful contributions on behalf of the College while reinforcing its mission of accessibility, engagement, and service. Whether supporting local causes, volunteering, or taking part in community initiatives, Team MVCC showcases MVCC’s commitment to making a positive impact in the Mohawk Valley.

Team MVCC 4-Runner

For those looking to deepen their engagement, Team MVCC 4-Runner recognizes faculty and staff who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to both community service and College support. To become a Team MVCC 4-Runner, participants must contribute to the MVCC Foundation’s annual faculty/staff campaign and take part in or contribute to at least three of the following Team MVCC-sponsored events:

  • Breast Cancer Walk
  • Heart Run/Walk
  • Boilermaker Road Race (as a runner or volunteer)
  • MVCC Day(s) of Service

Team MVCC 4-Runners are honored at an annual reception, where they receive a certificate and a gift in recognition of their dedication to MVCC and the greater Mohawk Valley.
