Looking to learn a new language, start an exercise routine, enrich your kids, or fill the extra time you finally have in retirement? Community Education provides professional, business, and leisure learning opportunities that can help you open doors, satisfy curiosities, and meet the challenges of living and working every day in the Mohawk Valley. Classes are for all ages and are all non-credit. Locations include MVCC's Utica and Rome campuses and various locations in Oneida County.

Choose from evening classes on our Utica and Rome campuses or get a certificate online by taking one of our many online offerings.

Let MVCC help you get (or stay) in shape by signing up for one of our health and wellness classes. Choose from several yoga classes, pilates, HIIT yoga, Cardio Hoop, and many more. Classes are offered on the MVCC Utica Campus, at the Jewish Community Center, or online.

It's never too late to learn something new! Whether you want to learn to decorate cookies, take up golf, or learn a language, there's sure to be something to awaken your passion. We have a wide variety of new - and popular - non-credit offerings.

Aquatics Section Image

Aquatics

Our variety of swim programs will help you to be safe and get fit while having fun. For adults, choose from Aqua Zumba, Water Aerobics, and Water Running. We also have adult swim classes for all skill levels. Interested in working at a pool or lake? Whether you want to become a lifeguard, a swim lesson instructor, or just get recertified in CPR, MVCC has the class for you. At this time, face coverings/masks are optional for all indoor classes, including health and wellness classes. All classes and class details are subject to change based on SUNY and CDC recommendations. All aquatics classes take place on the MVCC Utica Campus in the Jorgensen Center Pool.

College for Kids and Teens Section Image

College for Kids and Teens

Keep your kids engaged with one of our many College for Kids and Teens programs, from cooking to coding, Minecraft to chess. In the summer, there over 40 camps to choose from, Monday through Thursday for morning and afternoons, full and half days. During the school year, we hold programs during school breaks and on weekends. New classes include FIRST Robotics, classes on Saturday mornings, and new programs for teens!

Welcome to our non-credit ONLINE opportunities!! We have a lot to offer. If you’re not seeing a fundamental or certificate class that you’re looking for, please give us a call at 315-792-5300. We may have an unpublished class that will fit your needs!

* All MVCC non-credit instruction is completely self-supporting, including indirect costs, and requires no public funds.

Course Policies

As decisions to run classes are based on enrollment, reimbursements for canceled registrations will be made as follows:

  • 100 percent refund: withdraw three or more business days before class begins
  • 50 percent refund: withdraw two days or less before class begins (for classes costing less than $20, your refund is tuition minus a $10 fee)
  • Registrations for all swim lessons are non-refundable.
  • Consideration for withdrawal requests after the first class session must be made in writing to the Center for Corporate and Community Education.

Cancellation Policy for Online Asynchronous Classes: If you wish to cancel an online, asynchronous class registration, you may receive a full refund up to the end of the second week of your class. After that, refunds only will be made for extenuating or special circumstances.

If MVCC Campus closes, all non-credit CCED classes are canceled, as well. Please monitor local media outlets and, when in doubt, call our office at 315-792-5300 or visit mvcc.edu.

All financial obligations to MVCC must be satisfied before students may register for a succeeding term. This applies to both credit and non-credit programming.
