Residence Hall Staff
The Mohawk Valley Community College Residence Halls are supported by a dedicated team of professional staff, student leaders, and facilities personnel, all working together to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants, or R.A.s, are student staff members selected for their leadership, concern for others, knowledge of the College, academic responsibility, and commitment to positive residence hall living. R.A.s help residents build a respectful community, support an environment that is conducive to studying, and assist students with academic, personal, and social concerns either directly or through appropriate referrals. R.A.s also help enforce Residence Hall policies, and students are expected to follow staff directions. Failure to cooperate with Residence Life staff may result in judicial action. The R.A. on duty may be reached at extension 5310 from an Assistance phone or by cell phone at 315-792-5310.
Resident Directors
The Resident Director is a professional staff member responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Residence Halls and supporting both residents and Resident Assistants. The Resident Director helps address complex student concerns, promotes a safe and inclusive living environment, and connects students with appropriate campus resources when needed. The Resident Director is generally available Monday through Friday from approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bellamy Hall Office. To contact your Resident Director, visit the Meet the Staff page.
Assistant Director of Residence Life
The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a professional staff member who provides oversight leadership and support for Residence Life programs, services, and daily operations. This position works closely with Resident Directors, Resident Assistants, and other Residence Life staff to support a positive, safe, and engaging residence hall community. The Assistant Director also helps coordinate community-building efforts, address student concerns, and ensure that residence hall policies and procedures are followed. Supervisor of Residence Hall Facilities
The Supervisor of Residence Hall Facilities is responsible for supporting the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall physical condition of the Residence Halls. This position works with maintenance and housekeeping staff to help ensure that building systems, common areas, resident spaces, and facility concerns are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner. Students should report maintenance or facility-related concerns through the established work order process or by contacting Residence Life staff. Housekeeping and Maintenance
Housekeeping and maintenance staff play an essential role in keeping the Residence Halls clean, safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. Their work supports the daily quality of life for all residents and helps ensure that the buildings remain welcoming and functional. Housekeepers provide routine cleaning of bathrooms, lounges, and other public areas; however, students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Housekeeping staff should not be expected to clean student rooms, respond to pranks, or clean up messes caused by misconduct. Maintenance staff also work throughout the Residence Halls to complete repairs, address facility concerns, and support building operations. Students are expected to treat all housekeeping and maintenance staff with courtesy and respect. These staff members are important members of the Residence Hall community and should be recognized for the work they do to support students. All support staff wear clothing labeled “Dormitory Corporation” and name tags for identification.
