Traffic and Parking Enforcement:

Traffic and parking regulations at Mohawk Valley Community College are designed to maintain an orderly flow of traffic and to obtain maximum benefit from existing parking facilities. These regulations are enforced by the Department of Public Safety.

Traffic Enforcement:

The Department of Public Safety's Law Enforcement Division employs Peace Officers who are authorized to direct traffic, shut down campus roadways, investigate motor vehicle accidents, perform traffic stops, and issue citations.

The campus roads are used for vehicular traffic, and the posted speed limit is 15 m.p.h.

Parking Enforcement:

Mohawk Valley Community College is designated as private property and the use of the parking areas are a privilege restricted to persons who have a direct relationship with the college.

Violation of parking in a handicapped parking space and parking or standing in a fire lane are serious offenses. Unauthorized vehicles found illegally parked in these areas may be issued a parking citation and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
