Mohawk Valley Community College has announced its Fall 2026 lineup of events, which includes a variety of speakers, performances, exhibits, and workshops that are open to the community. Admission to most events is free, unless otherwise noted. Tickets for all events will be available at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at mvcc.edu/tickets.
Fall semester event highlights:
- Unsolved Justice: A Conversation with Filmmaker Nick Sardina — 11:10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17; Schafer Theater, Wilcox Hall, Utica. During this moderated discussion, local filmmaker Nick Sardina will talk about his 10-episode documentary series exploring the unsolved 1985 murder of Whitesboro High School student Kim Simon.
- Concert: The Five Families Ensemble — 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17; Schafer Theater, Wilcox Hall, Utica. Directed by Monk Rowe, the Five Families Ensemble’s repertoire includes jazz, Americana, classical and world music, as well as original compositions. Tickets are $10.
- A Walk in Their Words — 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23; Utica Campus Quad. On this International Day of Peace, MVCC and The Center will celebrate the diverse cultures of the Mohawk Valley with storytelling, vendors, and international foods and refreshments.

- Exhibit: “Gesture and Space” by MVCC Adjunct Instructor Colleen O’Hara — Opening reception at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22; Juergensen Gallery, Wilcox Hall 202, Utica. On view through Dec. 11, 2026.
- Workshop: Mini Figure Painting with MVCC Professor Josh Piejko — 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5; Academic Building 280, Utica. Tickets cost $15.
- Workshop: Photograms with MVCC School of Art Dean Todd Behrendt — 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2; Academic Building 273, Utica. Tickets cost $10.

- Cocoa and Cards with Songbyrd Street Studios — 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Rome and 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, in Utica. Tickets, which are limited, are $20 general and $15 for MVCC employees.
