Mohawk Valley Community College and the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) will celebrate graduates of the Advance 2 Apprenticeship and Real Life Rosies pre-apprenticeship programs during a ceremony from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Alumni College Center room 116, MVCC Utica Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will recognize the accomplishments of participants in both direct-entry pre-apprenticeship programs, which are designed to prepare residents of the Mohawk Valley for the region’s high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing through a combination of technical instruction, workplace readiness training, and hands-on learning experiences.
Real Life Rosies
Real Life Rosies is a part of the Diversifying Advanced Manufacturing with Women in the Workforce initiative — the first workforce training program of its kind in New York to create a direct pathway to apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing for women. The 12-week pre-apprenticeship program provides participants with the technical and professional skills required to pursue careers while helping employers build a more diverse workforce.
Advance 2 Apprenticeship
Advance 2 Apprenticeship is a pre‑apprenticeship training program that provides comprehensive, hands‑on learning experiences focused on developing the foundational technical skills, workplace competencies, and confidence needed for success in advanced manufacturing careers. Developed in partnership with the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Rochester Medical Center, the program expands access to apprenticeship opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities who may benefit from additional support.
Both programs reflect the ongoing commitment of MVCC, MACNY, and regional industry partners to strengthen the advanced manufacturing workforce pipeline and create accessible pathways to high-demand careers throughout Central New York.
