
The Mohawk Valley Community College chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) once again earned top honors at the Collegiate State Leadership Conference, held March 21, 2026, at Kean University in Union, N.J.
The conference brought together FBLA members from colleges across Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, offering opportunities for networking, professional development workshops, and competition in a range of business-related events. MVCC students demonstrated strong preparation and professionalism throughout, outperforming peers from several four-year institutions, including Rutgers University, Fordham University, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Seven MVCC students placed in the top four in New York State and ranked among the top 10 competitors overall across all three states, earning advancement to the national level. They will represent MVCC at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference this June. Here are highlights of their accomplishments:
- Accounting Case Competition — Lin Sein of New Hartford, N.Y., and Min Thant of Utica, N.Y., first place
- Project Management — Andrew Stanley of Remsen, N.Y., first place
- Business Ethics — Ashary Malloy of Utica, N.Y., third place
- Management Case Competition — Vincent Klein of Ava, N.Y., and Andrew Stanley of Remsen, N.Y., third place
- Emerging Business Issues — Thi Da Aye of Utica, N.Y., fourth place
Additionally, MVCC Instructor Yue Riesbeck was recognized as this year’s New York FBLA Collegiate Outstanding Local Chapter Advisor. She will be formally recognized at the National Leadership Conference.
