“The Box of Stories” explores the origins of storytelling and why it matters. In the play, three trickster gods steal the art of storytelling from humanity and lock it away in a magical box. A young girl discovers the box and releases the stories back into the world, helping restore knowledge, culture, and connection to humankind. Drawing from Native American, Norse, African, Greek, Indian, Vietnamese, Celtic, and Middle Eastern mythology, the production highlights the power of stories to shape civilization, share values, and preserve the human experience.

MVCC’s Theater Arts AS degree program provides students with creative, technical, and performance skills in acting, writing, and directing, preparing them to enter the field or transfer to a four-year college. Learn more about the MVCC Theater Arts program.
