Mohawk Valley Community College has announced its Fall 2025 lineup of events, which will include appearances by platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ryan Cabrera and stand-up comedian Madelein Murphy. Tickets for all events go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, at mvcc.edu/tickets

Concert: Ryan Cabrera

Black and white image of singer Ryan CabreraRyan Cabrera will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, in Schafer Theater, Wilcox Hall, at MVCC’s Utica Campus. Tickets are $15 and free for MVCC students. Known for his infectious energy, heartfelt lyrics, and signature acoustic-pop sound, Cabrera first rose to fame in 2004 with hits like “On the Way Down,” “True,” and “40 Kinds of Sadness.” His mix of pop-rock charm, dynamic stage presence, and soulful vocals promises an intimate yet electric performance for longtime fans and new listeners alike. Isaac French, a musician and songwriter from Vermont who now lives in Rome, N.Y., will open the show.

Comedian and speaker: Madelein Murphy

Image of comedian and speaker Madelein MurphyComedian and speaker Madelein Murphy will present her engaging talk, “Why Representation Matters,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Alumni College Center room 116 at MVCC’s Utica Campus. This free event will examine the concept of representation in American media, beginning with Gene Roddenberry’s “Star Trek” in the 1960s and continuing to the present day. Through humor, research, and candid insight, Murphy explores how media representation impacts the LGBTQIA+ community and why it matters more than ever. For mature audiences only.
