Mohawk Valley Community College will host the premiere of “The Haunting of Hannamacher Hall” along with a selection of locally made short films on Friday, Feb. 21, in Schafer Theater, located within Francis A. Wilcox Hall at the College’s Utica Campus. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the screening begins at 6. The film premiere is free and open to the public.

“The Haunting of Hannamacher Hall” is a locally produced short film created by Crows Nest Pictures — an independent film startup founded by MVCC students and alumni. Produced in collaboration with Film Utica and the MVCC School of Art, the comedy follows a group of eccentric ghost-hunting influencers as they explore the old Hannamacher Hall at night to gather content for their YouTube channel. Their adventure takes an unexpected turn when they realize that the hall might actually be haunted.

Filmed entirely at Kuyahoora Community Hall in Newport, the short film was written and directed by MVCC alumni Aidan Ferguson (Video Production, 2023) and Siulee Olivera (Humanities & Social Sciences, 2023). The Crows Nest production team includes Jonas America (Theater, 2021), and Carley Hinman (General Studies, 2023), and former student Kelsey Zimmerman. It also features Rachel Hartman (Theater, 2024), Connar Gassner (Theater, 2023), and former student Oren Valerio.
