Mohawk Valley Community College Athletic Director Gary Broadhurst has been named chair of the recently formed National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

The Hall of Fame was developed by the NJCAA Foundation to honor individuals who have paved the way for opportunities at the two-year college level athletically and academically, and those who have impacted the NJCAA through other areas of influence. Inductees will include administrators, coaches, student-athletes, and meritorious contributors. The inaugural Hall of Fame ceremony will coincide with the annual NJCAA Awards Dinner on June 12 in Charlotte, N.C.

Along with Broadhurst, the committee will consist of 14 contributing members, including a vice chair, seven members of the NJCAA Board of Regents, three members of the NJCAA Foundation, and three members of the NJCAA National Office staff.

Broadhurst currently serves on both the NJCAA Foundation and the NJCAA Board of Regents, where he represents Region III. He previously served as both the Men and Women’s Regional Director and Chair of the Region’s Executive Committee, and has served as the treasurer for the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference. He is actively involved in many national professional organizations, including the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), the New York State SUNY Athletics Oversight Committee, SUNY Chancellor’s Award Selection Committee, and the NJCAA Assessment and Excellence Strategic Planning Ad-Hoc Committee.

Broadhurst has been the recipient of numerous awards during his career, including the NATYCAA L. William Miller Award, NACDA Athletics Director of the Year (2007, 2012, and 2016), the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, the inaugural NJCAA Region III Athletic Director of the Year, and NACDA Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year.
