Mohawk Valley Community College will host its Spring Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the College’s Utica Campus at 1101 Sherman Drive.

The program will begin at 11 a.m. in Schafer Theater in the Information Technology Building and will feature an introduction to the College and Admissions Office, as well as a financial aid presentation on How to Pay for College. There also will be a session on Residence Life for those students interested in living on campus. The event will then feature a showcase of MVCC’s academic programs and student services in the Jorgensen Athletic and Event Center Fieldhouse, where visitors will have the chance to meet with faculty, staff, and students to talk about academic programs, see demonstrations, find out about student support services and clubs, reach out to athletic coaches, and tour the Utica Campus, including the residence halls, dining halls, classrooms, and labs. MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education also will be on hand to talk about noncredit courses for professional development, personal wellness, and leisure learning.

Check-in will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the lobby outside the Theater. Refreshments will be available. Registration is recommended, but not required to attend. To register, visit www.mvcc.edu/openhouse.

“Open House is a tremendous opportunity for students interested in learning more about MVCC to get a close up look at the college, meet faculty in their areas of study and staff who are dedicated to student success, whether it is in career exploration, job readiness, or transfer to a four-year institution,” says Dan Ianno, director of Admissions at MVCC. “Students and their families can explore all that MVCC has to offer, from our academic programs in everything from cybersecurity to fine arts, as well as our diverse athletic programs for men and women.”

Mohawk Valley Community College, established in 1946, is New York State’s first community college with a mission to provide accessible, high-quality educational opportunities for everyone. As the community’s college, MVCC is committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment. With campuses in Utica and Rome, MVCC is the region’s primary provider of college education, offering 90 degree and certificate options for its enrollment of 6,000 full- and part-time students. MVCC also serves an additional 6,000 people through its corporate and community education programs, and its campuses welcome more than 50,000 people annually for community events.
