Manufacturing Day, a free event for students, job seekers, and employers, is part of an effort to highlight advanced manufacturing — a vibrant and growing industry that offers diverse, high-paying career opportunities.

By recognizing local manufacturers and building awareness of available educational and training opportunities, Manufacturing Day 2024 will benefit companies, community leaders, educators, high school and college students, as well as economic development and manufacturing associations from across New York State.

Based on data from Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, over the next decade, nearly 3.8 million manufacturing jobs will need to be filled.

In 2024, the average manufacturing worker in the United States earned $98,846 annually, including pay and benefits, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis and Bureau of Labor Statistics. The average worker in all nonfarm industries earned $63,830.
