How to Obtain Your 'M' Number
(New MVCC ID Number)
New admitted students starting with Fall 2007
You will have an M number assigned by the Admissions Office. You will be notified of your M number through your advisement letter.
New Non–matriculated students (students not in a degree or certificate program)
You will receive your M number in a couple of ways:
Walk in – Registration staff enters demographic information, creates the M number and builds your schedule. You will be given a copy of your schedule with the M number on it.
Fax or Mail In – You will be sent a copy of your schedule, bill or payment statement. M number is on that bill or statement.
Continuing Students: To get M number through SIRS:
If you already have a PIN but do not know your M number: You can get into SIRS with your Social Security number as the ID. Once in SIRS, you may go to any of the Menus off the Main Menu (except Personal Information) such as Registration, Academic Records, and Financial Aid. Your M number is displayed on any of the pages that are accessed from that link. You can get your number that way.
Students who have been enrolled in the 2006–2007 academic year:
Will be assigned M numbers through the Registration’s Office. The Registration’s Office will be mailing out letters notifying you of the change to your new M number.
