Educational Opportunities
Choosing a major is not always easy! If you are not sure which major to pursue, speak with an advisor or career counselor.You can also utilize FOCUS, an online career exploration and education planning tool, to learn more about major and career options. Once you have an academic direction, select your classes based on your plan of study and conversations with your faculty advisor. Check out the degree programs and their graduation requirements by department for the 2008-2009 year.
What type of goal may I pursue at Mohawk Valley Community College?
Receive Your Associate in Science (AA), Associate in Arts (AS), Associate in Applied Science (AAS), or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree, or a certificate in one of our many programs of study
An Associates degree will typically require 60-70 credits to complete. Certificate programs are generally 30 credits or less. Some programs will have additional prerequisite courses that must also be completed.
Transfer credits to the college or university of your choice
With proper planning, all course credit that you earn at MVCC can transfer to the four-year college or university that you choose. Visit the Transfer Office in the Counseling Center to learn more about the many options related to transferring.
Prepare for today’s jobs and tomorrow’s careers
Both credit and continuing education programs are available to prepare you for rewarding jobs in high-demand careers like nursing, allied health, accounting, computer programming, and electrical technology.
