Summary
Under the direction of head coach Gary Parker (16th season) the Women´s Outdoor Track & Field team finished their season undefeated against two year college competition with a 25-0 record. The team won the Region III Championship and culminated their season with the programs 4th National Championship. There were several individual accomplishments including the following:
Regional Champions ¡V Lauren Penc; 200 and 400, Heather Vroman; 1500, Hanna Hoffman; 5,000 and 10,000, Kayla Forgit; Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer, Diana DeJesus; Javelin. The 4X100 meter relay team of Lauren Penc, Tiffany Oveida, Sara Pick, and Heather Vroman and 4X800 meter relay team of Penc, Shauncey Claud, Diana DeJesus, and Sara Garrett were also regional champions. Kayla Forgit was named field athlete of the meet.
All-Americans ¡V Heather Vroman; *1500 and *Steeple Chase, Hannah Hoffman; *5,000 and *10,000, Kayla Forgit; Shot Put, Diana DeJesus; Javelin, and the *4X800 relay team of Lauren Penc, Heather Vroman, Sara Pick, and Tiffany Oveida, and 4X400 relay team of Sara Garrett, Vroman, Penc, and Oveida. Heather Vroman was named the Track Athlete of the Meet and Head Coach Gary Parker the National Coach of the Meet.
