The Program:

The MVCC Hawks Basketball Team is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). They compete in Region III of Division III as well as being members of the tough Mountain Valley Conference. The Hawks play a 27 game regular season schedule against some of the best competition in the country at the two-year college level. The Hawks are characterized by unrelenting man to man pressure defense and an up-tempo running offense that stresses balance and unselfish passing. The program encourages each player to achieve their potential as individuals and as a team. Many of Coach Allison's athletes go on to play at four year schools with a large number earning athletic scholarships. During the past six years MVCC has appeared in Five Elite Eight National Tournaments. The Lady Hawks have also set the school record with 34 wins in one season in 2003-04. Entering the 08-09 season the hawks have a record of 187 wins and 16 losses under Coach Allison.
