Faxton Hospital Alumni Assoc.

Criteria

An award or awards will be given annually depending on availability of funds) to a nursing student entering Nursing 201 with a minimum 2.5 G.P.A. each semester who resides in Oneida or Herkimer County.

Description

The alumni association , organized in 1902, established from the contributions and generosity of alumni, continue to support education in the profession of nursing.

Jill A. Korrasik Memorial

Criteria

Awarded annually to a nursing student who has successfully completed Nursing 101, 102 and 103 and is a member of the Student Nurses’ Organization.The winning candidate chosen will be considered most improved, academically and clinically.

Description

In memory of Jill A. Korrasik, 21, who was a second-year nursing student whose life ended tragically as a result of an automobile accident.

Lions Club of Utica

Criteria

Applicant must be a Nursing, Human Services or Life Science major who has at least a 2.5 G.P.A.This student must be from the City of Utica, be of good character, civic-minded and in their second year at MVCC.

Description

Lions Club of Utica was founded in 1924 and is dedicated to serving people with impairments and to serving youth through education.

M. Eustelle McMillan Memorial

Criteria

Applicant must have completed the first year of his/her Nursing Program in good standing and demonstrate the potential for degree completion and success in the field of Nursing.Preference given to students who would have difficulty continuing without support.

Description

The family of Eustelle McMillan, led by her husband, John H. McMillan, MVCC Dept. Head/Professor Emeritus, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, has established this scholarship in her memory to celebrate her lifetime of nurturing and caring for others.

Millar Memorial

Criteria

Award is based on need, academic achievement, and potential in a nursing career.

Description

An annual nursing student scholarship awarded to a second-year student from MVCC’s Nursing Program.

William & Bonnie Waldron

Criteria

Must be in good standing and demonstrate the potential for degree completion and success in the field of Nursing.Preference will be given to students who would have difficulty continuing without support.

Description

Established by alumna Bonnie Waldron, this award is given to a nursing student who has completed their first year in the Nursing Program.
