Charles E. Schmidt Memorial

Criteria

Applicants must be from Oneida County (Utica area preferred) enrolled in one of MVCC/s business-related programs.Recommended students must show financial need and have good academic standing.Extra consideration to former high school Kiwanis “Key Club” students.

Description

Award in memory of former MVCC Business Management Department Professor Charles E. Schmidt, is made annually by the Utica Kiwanis Club.

Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU)

Criteria

Student must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and must demonstrate financial need.

Description

Sponsored by the Utica Chapter of the Society of CPCU given each term to a financial services major or business program major who express an interest in insurance.

D'Arcangelo & Co. Accounting

Criteria

3.5 G.P.A. minimum. BIT major, preference to Accounting majors, strong work ethic.

Description

Given annually to a second year freshman with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 in a BIT program with preference to Accounting majors.May be used for tuition, fees and books only.

First Source Federal Credit Union

Criteria

Applicant must have attended one of 27 member high schools: Brookfield, Clinton, Dolgeville, Frankfort, Herkimer, Holland Patent, Ilion, Little Falls, Madison-Oneida BOCES, Mohawk, Mt. Markham, New Hartford, New York Mills,Notre Dame, Oneida-Herkimer-Madison Counties BOCES, Oriskany, Owen D. Young, Poland, Proctor, Remsen, Richfield Springs, Sauquoit, Town of Webb, Waterville, West Canada, Westmoreland, Whitesboro.Preference to First Source member or immediate family members.

Description

Awarded annually to incoming freshmen who are high school graduates in good standing who intend to major in business related curriculum.

Friedberg-Grossman

Criteria

Students must have minimum G.P.A. of 3.2 and have completed at least 30 credit hours.Two letters of recommendation from full-time MVCC faculty along with a one-page essay on the importance of international trade to society and business must be included with application.

Description

This scholarship is awarded to matriculated students in business administration, accounting, financial services major or business management major.

James J. Nackley Memorial

Criteria

Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5, reside in Oneida County and provide evidence of financial need.

Description

Awarded to a full-time student majoring in the financial services management.Should no students in this major apply, students majoring in the business department program will be given consideration.

Joseph Asselta Memorial

Criteria

Academic achievement, financial need, community service and a demonstrated aptitude for a business career.

Description

This award is made to a deserving student enrolled in a business program.

Maryann Riggalls Coyne Memorial for Women in Business

Criteria

Traditional full-time students must reside in the Mohawk Valley (Oneida/Herkimer/Madison Counties) and enrolled full-time taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.Must maintain at least a 3.0 G.P.A. during her freshman (first) year at MVCC.Must demonstrate involvement in efforts to better their community and exhibit drive, determination and the entrepreneurial spirit.

Description

Award will be given to a female student majoring in a business/management systems curriculum (excluding information technology).Scholarship must be used for tuition and/or books or supplies only.

Pauline A. Ryan Memorial

Criteria

Students from accounting, business management, business administration and office technology who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours and have shown progress toward an academic degree.

Description

Scholarship is given annually in honor of Mrs. Ryan, who formerly headed the Business Department at MVCC.

Stephen C. Casakos

Criteria

Student must be entering their last semester with the highest GPA in the business and information technology concentration.

Description

Awarded to a full-time business management, business administration or banking & insurance student.

The Credit Bureau of Utica

Criteria

Applicant must be in top 25% of their high school class, having graduated no more than one year prior to making application, a full-time student (min 12 credit hours).Will be incoming freshmen or freshmen-eligible transfers, declare a major in the financial services management curriculum, and be a resident of New York State.

Description

New scholarship for top high school students who will be freshmen in the financial services management curriculum.

Utica National Insurance Group

Criteria

Applicant must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better, a moderate need and a potential for leadership.

Description

For student entering second year in a BIT major with an interest in the field of insurance.

Utica National Insurance Scholarship

Criteria

Applicant must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better, a moderate need and a potential for leadership.

Description

In memory of Jack B. Riffle awarded to a second year business student in the financial services program.

William Keene Boley, Jr. Memorial

Criteria

Student must be a full-time second year student, a single parent, preferably a returning adult, with a moderate need and a 3.0 G.P.A.This student must demonstrate a proven track record of their ability to translate sound business theories and practices into application.

Description

This award is given to a student whose qualities and values exemplify those of MVCC Business Professor William K. Boley, Jr.
