- Literature Resource Center -- useful for biographical and critical information on children's authors.
- NoveList database: (Available through the Mid-York Library System) Click on “Research Resources” on the right-hand side of the screen. Click on NoveList. A box will pop up asking for your Mid-York Library system library card number. Fill in your number. At the search screen click on “Advanced Search”. There you can narrow your search by Grade Level to “Babies /Toddlers” or “Pre-Kindergarten” before typing in your subject search. Each entry includes publishing information, a plot summary, associated subject headings, reviews, and author information.

- Teacher Reference Center -- Contains full text articles and abstracts for over 260 titles from the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals, periodicals, and books, for K-12 teachers and librarians.
- TeachingBooks.net --
TeachingBooks.net links teachers and school librarians with authors
and their books. It contains links to lesson plans, author web sites,
guides to teaching specific books, and more. You can even listen to
a pronunciation of the author’s name! TeachingBooks.net is a
subscription database available to the schools in the Oneida-Herkimer
district. Once on the web site, log in with your email address and
the password: Oneida. (The O-H BOCES School Library System has kindly
given permission to allow MVCC education students access to this database
using their password. Please do not give it out to any other non-subscribers.)
