How do I get into the program?
- Apply for Admission to the college online or by calling 792-5354, complete financial aid application and schedule to take the MVCC Placement Test, see the web at www.mvcc.edu; click on Quick Links then choose placement testing.
- Request from your High School(s) or College(s) the official copies of your transcript(s) to be sent to the MVCC Admissions Department (attn: Nursing) for a credit evaluation.
- After an acceptance letter is received, phone 315-731-5810 or 315-731-5819 to contact a pre-nursing advisor in order to create a plan of study.
- Students taking pre-requisite courses at MVCC note that to be eligible to enter NU 101 you must have:
- a GPA of 2.85
- completed Chemistry with a minimum grade of C (CH 091 and CH 092 or CH 131)
- completed the Math requirement with a minimum grade of C
- completed BI 106 Anatomy and Physiology1 with a minimum grade of C
- acceptance at the college does not guarantee students enrollment in NU101
- Students may take the prerequisites as a pre-nursing student; consult the website for important information concerning prerequisites, grade requirements, etc.
- Students must attend American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider prior to entering NU 101; it must be American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR.
- Students must attend a Mandatory Nursing Pre-Information Session prior to entering into NU101these are scheduled in the Spring semester.
- NU 101 Students must have a completed Nursing Health Physical Form on file in PH 348 (initiate this during the spring to allow time for tests as they are due the July prior to entering NU101)
